-Hood County sheriffs say anyone that wishes to volunteer should report to the First United Methodist Church, 301 Loop 567 in Granbury. Volunteers should meet on the Loop side and look for the CERT trailer, according to a press release.

-Looking for loved ones in the Granbury area should call 817-579-2888 to get info from Lake Granbury Hospital.(http://www.nbcnews.com/id/51901896/

Update 5/16/13:

Seven of 14 people who had previously been unaccounted for had checked in by Thursday morning, Deeds said at a press conference on Thursday. About 100 people were reported injured and as many as 250 were homeless after the swarm of twisters that ripped up trees and knocked down homes on Wednesday evening.

The six deceased were all adults, Deeds said. There have been no reports of injuries to first responders, the sheriff said.

"Everything's running smooth, everything's looking good," Deeds said of recovery efforts on Thursday.

Name Your 'PURRICE' Weekend...

Kelly at the Austin Humane Society sent us a heads up about a lot of wonderful kitties that are up for adoption. This weekend it's a Name Your 'PURRICE' Weekend to help a kitty get a great new loving home.

"Name Your Purrice" cat adoption event this weekendSaturday (4/27) & Sunday (4/28) ). ATX city animal shelter (AAC) is way overloaded with cats, so the Austin Humane Society have stepped in to help. They have brought in 44 of their cats to their shelter in the past 24 hours. Every adoption this weekend will help them both out greatly, so the ATX Humane Society is allowing adopters to name their own price for cats. All the same rules still apply. Adopters must fill out an application, go through all the same questions, and meet with an adoption counselor.
Look at those eyes, how can you say NO to Shadow!
