A Not So Super Bowl

I mainly watch the Super Bowl for the game itself, which turned out to be an exciting finish Sunday between the Steelers and Cardinals.  Some people watch merely for the commercials, and some for the pre-game and halftime entertainment.    It was nice to see Bruce Springsteen, Faith Hill, and Jennifer Hudson put on great performances this past Sunday.  The entertainment card hasn't always been super, though.  It was five years ago on February 2 that the infamous janet Jackson incident took place during halftime of Super Bowl Xxxviii in Houston.    During her performance, jackson's top was ripped off by Justin Timberlake during a halftime duet.  One of Jackson's breasts was temporarily exposed, creating a controversy that was the talk of the nation for months.  Though CBS quickly cut away from the scene, it didn't stop the flood of calls from angry viewers to the network, who apologized for the incident.    Thankfully, the Super Bowl entertainment the past few years has been in much better taste, featuring performances by Paul McCartney, U2, the Rolling Stones, and Springsteen.    Enjoy the music!
