Bad Gifts For Dad

Dad's big day is coming up. What are you going to get him? If you haven't made a decision yet, maybe this list of gifts to stay away from will help ... Do Not Get Dad ...
  • ... That stupid annoying singing fish that goes on the wall. A better idea: A gift certificate to a fishing store.
  • ... A money clip -- they can't hold everything the way a wallet can. So, get the wallet instead.
  • ... One of those BBQ Chef's hats -- they look ridiculous. Better idea: some prime steaks.
  • ... A baseball cap -- Dads don't have a shortage of these. Nice sunglasses would be a much better gift.

Spending On Dad May Reach Record Levels

Who says there's a recession going on? According to a new survey from the National Retail Federation, the average shopper will spend $106 on dad this Father's Day, up 13 percent from last year -- and the most in the survey's eight-year history. Of course, even this year's Father's Day takes a back seat to Mother's Day, where the average shopper spent $141. The top spending categories for dad include:
  1. Activities like golfing and going out to eat
  2. Gift cards
  3. Clothing
  4. Home improvement
  5. Gardening tools and appliances
  6. Electronics
