Billy Joel has never been accused of being afraid to live on the edge, especially when driving.
It was this week in 2003 that the singer lost control of his Mercedes S500, crashing into a tree, after losing control of the car and skidding for 100 yards. He was airlifted to a hospital in the Hamptons, New York.
This wasn't the first time the talented musician was involved in a serious accident. In the spring of 1982, he suffered a broken wrist after crashing his motorcycle. The injury required major surgery.
In his 1980 song "You May Be Right (I May Be Crazy), Billy boasted that he drove his motorcycle in the rain. "You told me not to drive, but I made it home alive... so you said that only proves that I'm insaaane!"
Enjoy the music!
