NIGHTY NIGHT: Tips For Getting Yourself To Go To Bed On Time

Working so early in the Morning, I'm always looking for great ideas . . .
Getting to bed at a decent time every night sounds like such a simple thing, but for many people, it's a huge challenge -- and causes huge problems each day.
It's hard to argue that getting quality sleep is vital to happiness and energy.
So, if you want to get more sleep, but have a hard time getting yourself to actually turn out the light, try these strategies:
  • Get Specific -- Give yourself a specific bedtime. Since most adults need seven to nine hours of sleep every night, just pick your wake-up time and do the math.
  • Ignore Your Body -- These days, it's way too easy to stay busy into the night. So, don't wait until you feel sleepy to start getting ready for bed. Instead, let your brain (and common sense) dictate when you go to bed.
  • Shut It Down -- Stay away from the Internet for at least an hour before your bedtime. Television, too. Both are very stimulating and can stop your brain from winding down.
  • Get Ready Early -- Take out your contacts, brush your teeth and get changed way before you get too tired.
  • Create a Ritual -- Do the exact same things at the same time every night. It won't take long for your body to understand that you mean business.
