I have been so excited for the X-Factor !! I know this show is going to be amazing!! Take a look at the extended promo video for the show, it brought me to tears!! I can't wait for September 21st to get here!!
The X-Factor is gearing up for it's September 21st debut on Fox and they have just released their new publicity pictures. I have only one thing to say...Paula Abdul looks amazing!! I seriously can't wait for this show to start!!
I know Lauren Ambrose best from her role on the HBO series "Six Feet Under" and was surprised when it was announced yesterday that she will reprise Barbra Streisand's role of Fanny Brice in "Funny Girl" when it comes to Broadway next year for a revival. Everyone thought "Glee's" Lea Michelle was a lock, but the good news is Lauren can really sing! Check out a video she made with her cabaret band below!
I was lucky enought to get tickets to the sold out Katy Perry "California Dreams"  show at the Frank Erwin Center on Saturday night. I was even luckier when I had the chance to meet Katy backstage. I've met a lot of artists over the years and never know what to expect, but I must say Katy Perry is one of the nicest I have ever met! She spent time with everyone and even showed us her gorgeous wedding rings which looked vintage but she said were purchased in India! If you missed the show in Austin , Katy will be back in Texas at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on September 7th!Â
Last night on America's Got Talent there was another a "star is born" moment as Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. took the stage. He looks like Bob Marley but who knew this guy could sing like Sinatra? Check out his story and performace below.
Â
It was an amazing country music night on the American Idol finale last night at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood.  Lauren and Scotty each performed 3 songs, one of their favorites, one chosen for them by their idols Carrie Underwood and George Strait and their new single if they should win the competition , picked by season 10 mentor Jimmy Iovine.  Overall I think it was Lauren's night despite her straining her vocal chords early in the day! Scotty is already such a pro , so it would not surprise me if he took the title , but I really want to see a girl win this year! It's been 4 years since Jordan Sparks won back in 2007!Check out their performances of their new singles below! Who do you think will win?Â
Haley Reinhardt seemed shocked at first when she was sent home last night on American Idol. She certainly rallied and this season with so much talent anyone can go home at anytime. After a few seconds she belted out "Benny and the Jets" for the audience and judges and seemed to take it all in stride. Check out an exclusive interview with her after the show below!  Next week the finale will be at the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday and we will crown a new American Idol on Wednesday night at 7pm on FOX! My money is on Lauren for the win!
Each of the Top 3 performed 3 songs last night, their choice, Intercope Records President Jimmy Ivovine's choice and finally the judges choice. I love the going home episode's on American Idol.  These 3 young people left home and barely anyone knew who they were and now they go home and their hometown throws them a party! What a feeling that must be, plus we get to see them back in their auditions and how much they have already changed!Check out a concert Scotty gave during his hometown visit to Garner, North Carolina. The town raised $61,000 to give Scotty a big homecoming party and he put on quite a show! Enjoy!Â
He was "In it to win it" but American Idol hopeful James Durbin was sent home on Amercian Idol last night. He is in good company, if you remember Chris Daughtry was sent home the same week several years ago and his career continues to skyrocket!  I expect the same thing will happen for James!  Judge Steven Tyler premiered his new video last night and American Idol Jordin Sparks debuted her new single "I Am Woman" and it's not Helen Reddy's version. Jordan looks fantastic!   Check it out below along with James Durbin's goodbye to American Idol!
Lady GaGa was in the house and it made all the difference in the world when it came to confidence and  creative performances from the final four Idol contestants!! James Durbin and Scotty McCreery were two of my favorites last night. Check out their performances below.
Last night's Top 5 gave it their all, but I think it's time for one of my favorite contestants , Jacob Lusk to go. There is so much pressure we don't see behind the scenes and I think it is getting to Jabob.  My favorites last night were Scotty McCreey and Haley Reinhart who I think gave the best performance last night. Check them out below!
Casey Abrams did not seem too surprised when it was announced last night that he was going home on American Idol. Â This was not the first time Casey was sent home, if you remember earlier on the judges used their only save of the season to keep him on. Â It paid off for Casey who was able to showcase his unique talents. Â I am going to miss him. Â Check out his goodbye below and at the end it's clear he and Haley Reinhardt are more than fond of each other.
What an amazing night on American Idol, even if they left Bruce Springsteen out of the telecast.  All 7 Idol hopefuls were fantastic, not a weak one in the bunch, but someone has to go home.  I think it may be fan favorite Jacob Lusk who had a hard time hearing his track when it messed up , he kept on  singing anyway!Â
My favorite performance this week was from James Durban who sang the Muse hit "Uprising" and was amazing!!
Kasey Abrams was also fabulous doing his rendition of Maroon 5's "Harder To Breathe". He even snuck in a kiss for J-Lo!
Pia was voted off of American Idol last night after giving one of her best performances ever on Wednesday night!!  This is the one big problem I have with American Idol.  Not matter how great and talented the woman are over the last 5 years men have won the competition!!  Everyone sent home in the Top 13 this year have been female!!  Of the Top 8 left on Idol  Haley and Lauren are the only gals left in the competition.  I wish American Idol would do what DWTS does and have the audience vote and the judges vote go in together.  See Pia's shocking elimination below!
After a record 55 million votes...over 25 million more than last week and setting a new American Idol record two finalists were sent home. Â I think both will have great careers ahead of them.
The buzz is that recently saved Casey Abrams and the lovely, jazzy Haley Reinhart are an item!!  It it's true it could explain Casey's makeover and Haley's best performance ever last night!!  We'll have to see what happens with these two! What do you think?Â
At this stage of the game on American Idol every vote counts. Â Tonight's results proved that! Â I also believe the order of the performances early on can make a difference. Â Tonight's results proved that too!! Â The amazingly talented Casey Abrams had the lowest number of votes and shockingly faced elimination. Â Clearly performing early I think a lot of voters forgot about him. Â I am so glad the judges used their one save of the season to keep Casey!! Â I have a feeling a bit of this was staged on the judges part , but Casey had no idea and his face and reaction are quite emotional!! Â Check out the video below if you missed it!Stevie Wonder sang his classic "Happy Birthday To Ya" to Steven Tyler in honor of his 63rd birthday!! Â Hey Steven you "don't look a day over fabulous " either! Â Check out Steven's fun birthday cake! Â Yummy!!
More fabulous stuff from last night's show!
It was Motown night on American Idol and one of the best show's ever!!  Everyone tried to bring their A game and while some succeeded , so did not.  Nobody gave a bad performance but as you know with American Idol some talent grows and some does not and it begins to show the further into the competition we get. My favorite performance belonged to Jacob Lusk doing a soulful rendition of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "Your All I Need to Get By".  Steven Tyler actually ran up on stage to give Jacob a hug, call ing him baby Luther after Luther Vandross!  Ryan Seacrest  then invited the whole front row to do the same.  Who was your favorite?  Check out Jacob's incredible performance below!American Idol Top 11 Performances:
Casey Abrams â I Heard It Through the Grapevine
Thia Megia â Heat Wave
Jacob Lusk â Youâre All I Need to Get By
Lauren Alaina â You Keep Me Hanging On
Stefano Langone â Hello
Haley Reinhart â Youâve Really Got a Hold On Me
Update 3/22/11:
This week it's 'Motown Favs' and the Top 10 determined for the Big Summer tour!

Karen Rodriguez bid Idol adieu tonight after the judges opted to hang onto their one-time-only save for a much rainier day."I know it's about the votes, but I've done my best to represent for everybody, for my family, for everyone," she said. The 21-year-old from New York tried to play to her strengths, singing her bilingual version of "Hero," but all it did was rehighlight her voice's limitations. No 11th-hour pardon for her tonight."This is not unanimous. I must say, we talked it over quite a bit, but the judges are not going to use the save tonight," Randy Jackson broke the news. Â By the look on her face it seemed like Jennifer Lopez wanted to save her! Â I was surprised Karen was eliminated! Â 11 very talented contestants remain! The Black Eyed Pea's performed last night along with last years American Idol Lee DeWyze.
The Grammy's had something for everyone last night and the big winners were Lady Antebellum!!  They won 5 Grammy's including Song and Record of the Year for "Need You Now"!  Check out a list of all the winners here!My favorite moments were Bruno Mars, Eminem and Rhianna and Barbra Streisand!  Katy Perry also showed clips of her wedding in India  to Russell Brand during her performance. Some of the most unusual performances were Lady GaGa and her entrance in an egg like pod and Ceelo Green performing with the Muppets! Check out pictures from the Red Carpet and backstage here! Muppets! Â
