This week in 1988, the Beatles received perhaps the highest honor any entertainer or group could receive: they were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame.
In attendance were Ringo Starr and George Harrison, along with Yoko Ono and Julian and Sean Lennon. The notable absence was Paul McCartney. In a letter to the Hall officials, Paul cited ongoing business differences with other two ex-Beatles as his reason for staying away.
It's a shame that feuds between performers often get in the way of enjoying an honor such as this, but it is unfortunately the nature of the business.
Enjoy the music!
