Cranberries Lead Singer Dolores O'Riordan Dies Suddenly at the Age of 46

January 15, 2018

Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of the Irish rock band Cranberries, has died.  She was just 46 years old.

Not many details about O'Riordan's death have been made available, but the news was confirmed by the band's publicist on Monday.

The Irish band rose to fame in the 1990s with the smash hit songs like "Zombie" and "Linger."

The 46-year-old died suddenly inside a London hotel room. The singer was there for a recording session.

Police are investigating O'Riordan's death. The Irish Times, however, reports that the band was forced to cancel tour dates in Europe and North America last year because of O'Riordan's health. TMZ says those cancelations were tied to O'Riordan's issues with back pain.

She split from her husband of 20 years back in 2014. The couple had 3 children together.
