It's the most wonderful time of the year, unless you're a cat stuck in a Santa costume.

Do you have a co-worker who does this?

December 20, 2017

If you've owned a cat or two in your lifetime then you know they can have serious edge to their personalities. The ones I've had thought of me less like an owner and more like a "Give me my food now!" kind of way. Sure, they're cute and snuggly when they want to be but that's the thing --- they have to want to be. Try to make a cat snuggle and you end up with scratched arms, or even worse, a fang in the wrist.

So I'm always amazed at people who are able to get their cats to put up with dressing up in costume. Case in point below. My co-worker, Don*, has a cat named Harold* who clearly has allowed him to dress him up in festive attire.

If you ask Don about it, he'll say that Harold just loves it. But, if a picture is worth a thousand words I think the words Harold is speaking in this one are, "If you think I'm enjoying this, you are seriously mistaken." In this next photo, it looks to me like Harold has just given up and resigned himself to waiting for it all to be over.

It reminds me of Monica's biggest pet peeve on Friends -- animals dressed as humans. It might be Harold's biggest pet peeve as well. We'll never really know....because if he rolled over and started clawing madly at this Santa hat, Don didn't take that photo. So the cruel or cute debate rages on.

Some people get away with incredible things when it comes to their cats. Kate Beckinsale immediately comes to mind:

It does seem to me that Kate has an EXTRAORDINARILY tolerant feline. And, by the way if you are not already following Kate Beckinsale on Insta, you really should. Aside from the occasional & hilarious posts featuring Clive, the most laid-back cat in the world, she's damn good fun.
